Getting My “Write” On

Getting My “Write” On…

Forgive the “Lack” of Pixels in these Photos, as they’re taken with My Cell Phone (Which isn’t a “Smart” Phone… But don’t tell it that, Lol)…

That’s Right, This Little Metalic Red (Though You Can’t really See The Color) Laptop is where I do All of My Writing (Some of it starts in Black Composition Notebooks), and/or Blog Posting…

A 15″ Samsung Laptop…

I Love This Thing… I’ve actually wanted it for a while, and finally picked one up about a year ago… After My 17″ Toshiba Broke Twice (Where you Plug the Power Pack in, Popped inside the Laptop Twice)

What Spring Means To Me

by The Maze

It’s been a LONG time since I wrote here, and I’m glad to be “back”. I must say this month’s theme is quite an interesting one. Since I’m living in South Africa, when I hear the word “Spring”, I think of a literal spring!

Make sure this is on your car somewhere… Or else you’re screwed…not sprung!

I’m sure you’ve all seen one. The most immediate image comes from a ca. I’m positive I saw a bunch in some vital positions near the wheels. So I guess that makes the spring quite important to our world, in some way allowing us to travel safely in our cars. Wow! Already I’m feeling all gooey inside from this word! I believe they have something to do with shock absorption.

Paul Mauriat: ‘I like Chopin’ & ‘Penny Lane’

by Devina

I find is sad that not many people are aware of such a talent, a shame really, and … okay fine, fine, I’m moving on with it. I found this this wonderful piece of ear candy (equivalent to huge bar of Cadbury milk chocolate) on YouTube mid-last-year and boy was I lucky! But let me tell you a little more about Mr.Mauriat first before I get carried away. I understand that Mr.Mauriat ‘fine-tunes’ or remakes the instrumental part of many songs in addition to his original compositions, for instance Paul fine-tuned ‘I like Chopin’ (in the video above) which was originally done by Paul Mazzolini aka Gazebo who sang it, here’s his version.  There’s more on Paul on this website. He was more into pop, jazz and the easy listening genre.

Paul Mauriat (4 March 1925 – 3 November 2006) was a French orchestra leader, conductor of Le Grand Orchestre de Paul Mauriat, who specialized in the easy listening genre. He is best known in the United States for his million selling remake of André Popp’s “Love is Blue”, which was #1 for 5 weeks in 1968. Other recordings for which he is known include El Bimbo, “Toccata” and “Penelope.”

The first time I listened to Mr.Mauriat’s ‘I like Chopin’ I fell completely in love with it’s magical notes! Many times when I listen to this particular song of his, I close my eyes and every time I feel as if I’ve been transported onto the streets of Paris (where I very much would like to visit some day) and this feeling within me is impossible to describe! The music just flows inside of me and I’m filled with this elation, I can feel the music.
