“Star Wars”, and “The Empire Strikes Back” are the the reasons that I wanted to be a Filmmaker… And though I haven’t been Following much in regards to the New Films that are coming, I was very happy that Disney Bought the Rights to the Franchise… Because I feel it should continue on, with or without George, even though he is still involved… That said, I’m very Excited to see this Announcement, and seeing it just… Well… There it is. The fact is, two of my All Time Heroes are Walt Disney, and George Lucas… And so I am happy with this, like I say. Truth be known, I wish it was My Brother and I making these Films, but I wasn’t quite able to make that happen, Lol May the Force be with everyone involved in the Films, and all of the New, and Old Fans. All those rumors about who’s part of the “Star Wars: Episode VII” cast can now be put to rest.
The team behind the upcoming film officially announced the cast on StarWars.com, along with a photo.
Series newcomers Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga — Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker — filmmakers said Tuesday.
The announcement did not say what roles the new actors will be playing, through it’s been rumored that Driver (“Girls”) will have a villain-type role.
“We are so excited to finally share the cast of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII.’ It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again,” said director J.J. Abrams. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
“Star Wars: Episode VII” is being directed by Abrams from a screenplay from him and Lawrence Kasdan. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, and John Williams returns as the composer.
