The Big Game Is Today!

by Lorna's Voice
I play Scrabble and I don't think "XLVII" is a real word. I don't care how many points you need to win.

The Big Game is today! No, Silly, not that one.

I’m talking about this one.

Now doesn't this look more colorful, fun, wholesome, inclusive, and, okay, strange?

Remember the uproarious fun you used to have with this simple game (as long as you knew your adjectives from your adverbs)? Oh the hilarity!

Well, since this is a blog for writers and readers, I thought we’d play a game of Mad Libs.

I have selected the opening paragraph, which happens to be only one long complicated sentence, from a very famous book by a very famous author. Hey, I may have a future in famous writing, given that sentence I just wrote.

Then I selected certain words to take out and have you randomly give to me.

Your job this week is to give me, in the following order:

  1. a noun
  2. an adverb
  3. a past tense verb
  4. a noun
  5. a noun
  6. an adjective
  7. a noun
  8. a noun

In the Comments Section, give me whatever words I asked for, in the order that they are mentioned.  Be brave and creative with your choices.

You can't let others cramp your style. Tap into your inner Sassarific Self and let 'er rip!

Next week, I will reveal the very famous book and author we are hacking the bits out of. I will share with you the original and classic sentence, as well as our Legends Undying Mad Lib versions. I told you this was going to be fun! And Literary, too!

And you thought football was the only game in town…

I hear there's an exciting game of bingo in any church basement near you if you get bored with football and are all finished with Mad Libs.
